Lot #1797 - $10/$1 1950-A B New York

Error Notes > Federal Reserve Notes

$10/$1 1950-A B New York
Grade: PMG Ch. UNC 64 EPQ     PMG
I consider this $11 bill to be the King of the small size double denomination errors. Less than a dozen examples are known in all grades, and to the best of our knowledge, this is the only note of that small fraternity to be graded uncirculated by either PMG or PCGS. We have seen several of the others over the years and even the best can't compare to this beauty. Fully embossed as indicated by the "EPQ" designation by PMG, and virtually free of any of the surface soiling that plagues so many of the other examples. Another special feature of this double denomination is that it is also a mule of two different note types. The back is actually from a $1 Silver Certificate, since this note obviously pre-dates the 1963 $1 FRN series. Without question, one of the premier small size double denominations.
