Donora resides in Washington County and was not officially incorporated until 1900. The town owes its success largely to agriculture and coal mining, although there were other industries present in the town's early history. Donora is the birthplace of baseball stars Stan Musial, Ken Griffey, Sr. and Ken Griffey, Jr. This note is not in the census, but it should be. It came from our Nov. 2001 sale. The most recent appearance of a similar note was in Feb. 2005 when a VG/F "sold" on EBay for $1,550. Group 3, Series Standard. Plate date 8/10/00.
