The star notes from the red seal legal tender series of 1928 are one of the classic rarities of the era of small size paper money. To the best I can tell it is doubtful that more than half a dozen uncirculated examples of this rarity exist. Our offering has the low serial #*00003273A. It is fresh and original with excellent centering which is always rare on this issue. One can see the slightest toning visible, probably from the high humidity of Puerto Rico, which is where it was originally distributed. No other small size star carries the cache attached to this important star. This note was the cornerstone of the Haywood Watts Collection.
