The entire black overprint (consisting of the charter numbers, the bank name and city, as well as the officers' signatures) has been printed an extra time without ink. While the photo won t show it well, even a quick glance at the actual note will immediately reveal the extra impression which is significantly shifted from the inked one. Over the years, we ve seen this a few times on serial #1 notes, but I believe this is the first regular serial note with this mistake that we ve seen. Certainly rarer than the modern double print $2s which bring around $20,000.
