A lovely Original Series Ace that is one of two notes reported from this town that shares its name with the county in which it resides. This was one of the earliest banks organized, opening in 1864, and also one of the earliest banks closing, in 1869. This note is only 95 sheets from the end of the run. The town did have three other national banks, but not for more than 30 years. Here is a recent discovery and it's by far the finest of the three notes reported. The great pen signatures of A. Monnett and J.J. Maun make this beautifully centered note even more desirable.
