This bank shows 52 large notes reported or surviving. This example is well signed and lovely. Peoria is one of the oldest settlements in Illinois, beginning as Fort Clark in 1813. It has had a long history of industry, with early mills, pork processing and distilleries as early as 1837. It is the home of the world headquarters of the Caterpillar Corporation from 1910.
