This is a nice Date Back $5 that is one of only nine large notes reported, and no small size. The signatures are no longer legible on this note. Peoria is one of the oldest settlements in Illinois, beginning as Fort Clark in 1813. It has had a long history of industry, with early mills, pork processing and distilleries as early as 1837. It is the home of the world headquarters of the Caterpillar Corporation from 1910.
