A scarce and popular Cook County bank with 14 large notes reported, and there haven't been any around for five years. This note has excellent pen signatures. Des Plaines began as a land purchase by the Illinois and Wisconsin Land Company in the early 1850s, which was seated along a proposed railway line. The first major building was a steam-powered mill to produce railroad ties in 1852 and it continued to be heavily influenced by railroad interests throughout its inception.
