A very nice, early Brown Back that is 1 of only 11 large notes reported. This is the better of the two $10 Brown Backs known. Excellent pen signatures of A.M. Willis, President and R.H. Smith, Cashier. The town of Ridge Farm was named after Abraham Smith's Ridge Farm, located on a ridge of land running east to west through Elwood Township. The post office was established on May 17, 1841.
