This was the charter's second title. This note, with excellent pen signatures, is 1 of 30 large notes reported. Peoria is one of the oldest settlements in Illinois, beginning as Fort Clark in 1813. It has had a long history of industry, with early mills, pork processing and distilleries as early as 1837. It is the home of the world headquarters of the Caterpillar Corporation from 1910.
