This is one of the most popular of all Colorado towns for both bank notes and skiing. A true rarity, the bank issued $5 Brown Backs only before liquidating in 1898. The 'C' position sheet mate to this note brought almost $19,000 in my 2004 Memphis sale. If a great location and rarity were not enough to get your motor running, this piece also has the third leg of the triad, that of condition. It is actually an uncirculated note that was folded twice and put away, leaving just three vertical folds and all the brightness and originality of a new note. This note is still one of only four recorded and it's beautiful. A trophy item in any collection.
