Platteville was home to one national bank that issued a fairly substantial number of sheets, yet large size examples seem to be rather elusive. Just 13 large size notes remain, of which only two are Brownbacks. This exceptional specimen is one of the finest on the bank and has excellent pen signatures of Thomas Jenkins, Jr., President and Wm. Heatherington, Cashier. The front shows some light discoloration, but it is not objectionable.
