The northern counties of Iron, Vilas, Forest and Florence covered some of the most sparsely populated land in Wisconsin in the 1930s. Crandon was the only town to host a national bank in Forest County, and both its national banks are scarce to rare. There are only four notes known on the First National Bank, with only one auction appearance back in 2004. This well-centered example is signed by P. Shay, President, but I can't make out the cashier.
