This may be a common bank with 28 large known on this first title, but First Charters are truly rare. A single low-grade Deuce and this $5 are the extent of the known pieces. Neither note has ever been offered in a public sale as far as we can tell. This extremely attractive specimen has good color, no damage and folds that hardly affect the vignettes, such that on the initial glance the grade "AU" comes to mind. Signed by J.D.
