This is a nice 'F' note for the alphabet set. This bank issued only small size and this note is 1 of 30 recorded. Freeport takes its name in homage to an early settler, William Tutty Baker, who ran a free ferry across the Pecatonica River in the 1830s. In 1858 it was the site of the most significant of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, where Douglas answers to questions on slavery alienated the south and split the Democratic party, aiding Lincoln s victory.
