This lovely Original Series $5 is the best of the three large notes reported on this bank that was chartered in 1870 and liquidated in 1879. The note was last available was 26 years ago. J.S. Rumsey signed as president and the cashier's signature is clear but not legible to me. This is just a great Midwestern title on a Midwestern bank.
