This small town was home to just 825 people when the First National Bank was chartered. Thus 2,176 sheets of Plainbacks seemed to be enough to supply the town's needs. The bank never closed, but also never issued any 1929 Series notes. By 1935, just $580 was left outstanding. Today, with only two notes known, I think collectors would agree that they should have issued more notes! The specimen we offer here is the same one we sold in 1998. That appearance is still the only opportunity collectors have had to buy a note from this bank, until now. Fabulous signatures of F.L. Lorey, Vice President and D.T. Cobb, Cashier.
