We have been able to track only three other examples of this rare star, two in Fine and one in PMG 64 EPQ. That uncirculated note was the Tom Flynn specimen and carried a serial number one digit lower than the note we offer here. This wonderfully original piece has full, untrimmed margins and embossing so sharp and angular there is no question as to its authenticity. There is no reason for this note not to be equal in grade to the Flynn example, which sold for $3,220 last April. The Flynn note still stands as the only Kansas City star from the 1934-D series to be graded by either PMG or PCGS. An unusual second chance at a key rare note.
