This ultra rare Eau Claire bank has been made even tougher since Chet held two of the three known examples from this First-Charter-only bank. This $2 has been off the market since it was auctioned in 1993 and will be a prize for the new owner. The note is solid for the grade, but shows a few scattered microscopic pinholes and a tiny old-time patch on the back that I almost missed. Considering the rarity, those faults are of little consequence. Signed by F.W. Woodward, President and G.T. Thompson, Cashier. The other note we offer here, the $5, sold in 2002 for $18,975. This $2 in the same grade should be worth as much or more.
