An extremely common bank in small size, but quite rare in large. Only eight Third Charter notes are in the census, and in spite of the bank's early beginnings, no First or Second Charter examples have ever been seen. We can trace just two large size notes in the last two decades being offered for sale, so this desirable Red Seal will be earnestly anticipated. Stamped signatures of Mitchell, President and Fratt, Cashier are well done. This is a bright and problem-free example, save for a trace of adhesive in the lower margin.
