Yuma received its name from the Yuman Indians. It has always been the best place to cross the Colorado River, and in 1873 it became the county seat. This bank was in business from 1905 to 1929, but no territorials are known. This note appears to me to be as good as any in the census. It has clear signatures of T.L. Law, President, and C.L. Latterson, Cashier. Notes from this community remain so very elusive. It's certainly been a long while since I have had one. From the Huntoon Collection.
