Grade: Ch. AU
Here is another one of the many trophy notes scattered throughout this great collection. The eye appeal could not be surpassed, what with it having full margins, great signatures and it being a #1 $5 Brownback. It is incredibly rare as well. Just two notes are known and this Brownback-only bank had just $445 outstanding in 1910. J.W. Ladd who was a Captain in the Civil War, signed as Cashier. Included is a note from his son, A.B.J. Ladd that mentions how this note was the first currency issued by the bank. L. Choate signed as President. A great note worth whatever it costs. The other known example was only Fine and has not been seen since we sold it in 1997.
Current Bid: $ 18,000.00

Estimate: ($ 15,000.00 - $ 30,000.00)
