Grade: PCGS Ch. Abt. New 58
The hallmark of this famous "Technicolor" $20 Gold is the deep red overprint and rich gold background. This example is 110% there when it comes to meeting the vibrant color requirements. Even the back has not a hint of oxidation. The reason PCGS assigned an AU grade is not immediately apparent, but I imagine there must be a bend somewhere. Nice uncirculated examples can bring $80,000 or more in today's market and wouldn't look that much better than this note. The most recent AU to appear at auction was a piece we offered about a year ago that brought $27,600. This PCGS Ch. Abt. New 58 should do at least as well.
