The great margins, bold embossing and a rich gold back would normally put this $50 Gold firmly in the Gem category. The PCGS grade of Very Ch. New 64 PPQ was no doubt due to a slight under inking of the seal and double Xs. It is definitely not a case of sun fading, as the serial numbers and paper are 100% fully bright. This is a mule variety, as are most of the lower serial numbers.
