Belvidere Bank of Lake St. Clair $2

February 10, 1850. The first time we ve ever offered this bank. Some research suggests that the Bank of Lake St. Clair never actually opened, but remained in the planning stages. However, this note appears to have been issued; as it is signed, dated, and circulated. A different denomination, in a lesser grade, brought $3,800 at auction years ago; this lovely piece should realize considerably more. A couple of inconsequential flaws consistent with the grade.
