Of the three banks in Ashland, one closed in 1876 and is extremely rare and one issued only small size notes, leaving this relatively scarce bank as one's only option if a large note is desired from this community. Of the 14 large notes reported on the bank, this is quite possibly the finest. The purple stamped signatures of White, Cashier, and Randall K. Brown, President, are unfaded.
