Grade:
F/VF
Two nearby towns named Sheridan and Calvert merged in 1882 to form Auburn, but their rivalry continued after incorporation. The two business districts went by North Auburn and South Auburn, even maintaining two post offices. This bank was located in what used to be Sheridan. The bank took this second title in 1905. Receivership came swiftly, soon after this note was issued, with the bank closing in 1931. That left a somewhat scarce charter to find in small size, with just 14 pieces recorded. Part of a teller stamp shows on the front.
