Grade: PMG Gem UNC 66 EPQ
Scarce January 15, 1865 issue and not to be confused with the thousands of earlier issued notes that are always encountered in group lots. A mere 4,000 notes were printed for the $5 denomination and few of them ever make it to auction. The central vignette shoes James Oglethorpe who founded the illustrious colony of Georgia in 1732. As common as these are they rarely achieve Gem or Superb Gem grade.
