Lot #1335 - Latonia, First NB, S6248

National Bank Notes > Kentucky

Latonia, First NB, S6248
Fr. 639 $20 1902RS
Grade: Fine
This excessively rare town had just one National Bank that was chartered in 1902. The records indicate just four large notes and this is the only Red Seal. The note has clear pen signatures of James T. Earle, President who formed the bank when the town was only 150 people and a hamlet outside of Covington. He was later instrumental in having Latonia being annexed as part of Covington. He was one of eleven children of a Kentucky Pioneer family. This note realized $9,200 in 2002 as part of the Glen Martin Collection. The lot includes a postcard of the bank.
Current Bid: $ 6,000.00
