January 1, 1866 This note is an R-7 and it has the extremely rare January 1, 1866 date. It features General Daniel Morgan at the left, a girl at the right and "The Rescue" vignette at the center. These were never available, but a South Carolina agency may have sold some recently. All that were sold were either cut-cancelled or remainders in uncut sheets, none signed and issued as this piece.
