T-27 Plate A 14 RAREST of the RARE 1 of 4 Known
Confederate Items
T-27 $10 September 2, 1861 Plate A 14
Grade:
PCGS Fine 12 Apparent
Entirely new to the census, which stood at a paltry three pieces prior to this discovery. The T-27, in general, has surpassed all other numbers as the single rarest Confederate note, eclipsing the T-35 Indian Princess and miles ahead of the highly touted T-1 and T-2 $1,000 and $500 Montgomery issues. A wholesome example of this eminently collectible rarity, which has undergone archival restoration and stabilization by the industry s most skilled conservator; PCGS has nitpicked every millimeter of the note, citing 'COC; major restorations; design and signatures redrawn; repaired cancellations' on the label which, while no doubt technically correct, seem to reflect harshly on the attractiveness of the note and it s next owner. This should satisfy even the most critical collector who will be pleased to annex this Confederate rarity. If the T-27 is legendary, then the plate A 14 must rest unchallenged at the top.
