Our error consultant believes this is the very first small size mismatch printed. It's the only mismatch on a $100 National and one of only three mismatches on the $100 denomination from 1862 to 2010. Grinnell, Wade, Bass, The Smithsonian, ANA, and the Taylor Family collections did not have one! We offered this once before as part of the John Whitney Walter Collection in October 2004 where it 'slipped through the cracks' and brought only $17,250. The error book lists it at $45,000 in XF and is un-priced in other grades.
