Fr. 537 $5 1882DB
Grade:
PCGS Gem New 65 PPQ
This bank was chartered in 1880 and issued a few $10 and $20 First Charters, followed by a good supply of Brownbacks and 1882 Datebacks. There are 47 notes accounted for in the census on this bank which closed in 1910. Many specimens are high-grade, but this example must be one of the best. It has full, even margins on both sides, great color and tons of originality. Just four $5 1882 Datebacks are known and this is the only CU. From the Louis Van Belkum Collection.
