Fr. 380 $1 Original #5
Grade:
XF
Oh my, this is just a most magnificent note. There was no example of this bank in the DeGood Collection and there are only four notes reported, with this being, by far, the finest known. This bank was chartered in 1864 and liquidated in 1884 after issuing First Charters and $50 and $100 Brownbacks. By 1910 the outstanding showed at $1,407. This note is serial #5 and the quality is staggering. It was signed by Jos. Mead (?) and Joseph Mills. A Fine $5 brought $11,500 several years ago. From the Louis Van Belkum Collection.
