If you collect the Upper Peninsula this has to be about as good as it gets. We are offering separately this extraordinary pair of Brownbacks, a $50 and a $100, and they don't match serial numbers. This is the only example to be offered for sale since 1974, when Jess Peters offered this $100 Brownback and obviously Louis Van Belkum acquired it there or shortly thereafter. While both notes grade VF, the $50 is prettier, maybe say '30' to '35'. Both have excellent pen signatures of J.H. Rice, Vice President and Langle (?), Cashier. From the Louis Van Belkum Collection.
