Design 1a. This is a fantastic Proof with the red overprint. On the face is an amazing vignette of the steamer Etiwan loading and unloading cargo. During the Civil War there was a ship, the CSS Etiwan, which probably started as a cargo ship decades before. This lovely Proof is mounted on card and then on another paper. Stunning and in demand.
