Here is certainly one of the greatest finds of the year. The bank was located in Garvin County and there are just four Blue Seals reported, but never a Red Seal, and certainly none this lovely with its nearly perfect centering and excellent pen signatures of Geo. J. Dykes, President and W.P. Mays, Cashier. Within the state of Oklahoma there are 105 known Red Seals and before this addition there were only 11 that were issued after statehood. The National Bank Note Census records shows two XF, a F/VF, two Fine +, two Fine and two without a grade listed. The last two notes sold were a $20 in Fine at $40,250 in 2003 and a $10 in VG/Fine at $44,850 in 2002. There were only 187 sheets of statehood Red Seals printed on the bank and this note comes from the 162 sheet. Wow...what a find!
