Signed twice. This presentation note last sold in a William Donlan auction of the mid-1970s and has reposed with the same buyer since that time. We scrutinized this note before encapsulation and absolutely felt confident that it would receive Gem rating. PCGS does note 'D.N. Morgan Courtesy Autograph and Presentation Note' on the holder. Signed 'D.N. Morgan' in brown ink above his engraved signature. Also signed again on the verso documenting the presentation; Presented to Mr. Max Salare, Bridgeport, Connecticut, April 15, 1929. D.N. Morgan Treasurer of the U.S., June 1 1893 to July 1, 1897. Nominated by Grover Cleveland, Pres. U.S., confirmed by U.S. Senate, April 15, 1893". A bit of Wikipedia research could shed further light. Perhaps the single most important paper money autograph that we ve handled!
