$200 United States War Bond Series E December 1945

Of all the bonds issued, the $200 is by far the rarest and the key to the War Savings Bond series. Very few are known and the last one we had brought an amazing $3,000-plus hammer here at Memphis a number of years ago. Date stamp of December 7, 1945, which I think is John Heleva's birthday. A second stamp "Victory Loan" is also placed on the bond by the issuing agent. More recently someone has tried to negotiate this bond and signed in ballpoint ink on the back. The condition of this bond is one of the best we have seen. Something truly for the specialist and advanced collector.
