The Shoe & Leather Bank of Boston is a scarce bank with only 12 notes reported, but the most interesting part of this note is the beautiful overprint that again repeats its name, Shoe & Leather National Bank, on the left end, printed vertically. On the bottom right edge of the note is printed Pro Tem. This could be for the acting president based on the position. A very unusual item and I only know of one or two others. The note has a center fold and a tiny brown spot on the top. A very attractive piece.
