An absolute pleasure to catalogue. This important Blackback $20 is entirely new to the census and unquestionably ranks in the upper one-third, although in terms of honesty and eye-appeal it should rank higher. The surfaces are completely unmolested, the paper has exceptional body, all design elements remain sharp and there are no restorations or improvements of any nature. A few tiny staple holes observed when backlit, but not a hint of anything else. Even the margins that are commonly irregular require no apology whatsoever. If a collector has patiently waited for years to buy the perfect Decatur, it would be a mistake to go a day longer without chasing this lot.
