$1,000 1934 G Chicago G-A DGS Mule
Grade:
PMG Abt. UNC 50
A few $1,000 1934 Series notes were printed using 1934-A backs, creating the 1934 mule variety, which is not identified in the latest edition of the Schwartz/Lindquist reference. It looks like back plates #1-#4 were micro size numbers, while plate #5 and higher were the macro numbers. This Chicago note has a serial number several thousand numbers higher than the current high observed, and carries the back plate #5. Could be rare and worth further study.
