Arkansas Treasury Warrant State of Arkansas $10

April 11, 1863. A nice note with minimal handling. The paper is strong and the centering is fair, with the entire note outlined. There is a tape repair on the lower right of the back and a pin hole below (A)R(K). The signer, O(liver) Basham served as Arkansas Treasurer from February 1861 to April 1864. He then rode as a lieutenant colonel with the 7th Arkansas Cavalry Regiment. He was killed at the Battle of Pilot Knob (Fort Davidson) on September 27, 1864. Criswell Cr. 54.
