There has never been a time when the 1935-D Wide *-C has not been considered rare. In the 1980s and 1990s most collectors had to be content with circulated examples, as CUs were nowhere to be found. Unpriced in Gem in the Schwartz-Lindquist reference. This obviously original piece has needle-sharp embossing.
