National Bank Notes > Oregon

Redmond, First NB, P11294
Fr. 658 $20 1902ND
Grade: Fine
Redmond is located in the heart of central Oregon and is name for Frank T. Redmond who settled near there in 1905. The town received a post office in 1915 and was incorporated in late 1916. Today the population has swelled to over 26,000, and the climate is considered to be "high desert". This National Bank Note bears the date December 24, 1918 and is the only note known to have survived from this short-lived bank, that only printed 862 sheets. The town's other National Bank was only in business for five years and has one large size note reported from 382 sheets. Even adding these numbers together you have an incredibly rare location. The top is cut barely into the design, but the signatures and grade are decent.
