I have never had an auction with as many serial #1 First Charter National Bank Notes. This bank was chartered in 1880 and this was the earliest type issued for this charter. The quality of this $5 is so very pretty that it was graded Gem UNC 65 by CGA but has since been removed from the holder. I believe it to be Ch. CU and hence the grade here. Regardless of a technical opinion it's clearly a gorgeous note. CGA label is included but separate.
