Fr. 605 $5 1902ND Uncut Sheet
Grade:
Ch. AU
A rare uncut sheet from this early California bank that was originally chartered as the First Gold Bank of Oakland, and it changed to the First National Bank of Oakland in 1880. This sheet carries a 1915 plate date, and although it's folded between the notes, the notes are quite lovely and the top and bottom selvage is still attached. I could only find two other uncut sheets of California Blue Seals, one from Sacramento and the other from Woodlake. This is a Brownback sheet from Covina and a couple of Red Seal San Francisco sheets. As a state it is very rare in large size sheet form. Notice the outstanding pen signatures.
