This is an extraordinarily rare star, considering this is the only $50 Gold that issued them. Only fourteen notes are known, and a mere three of those are graded higher than this lovely piece. We have been fortunate to handle the only other two notes to appear on the market since 2003. The first, in November, 2007, was a PCGS VF 20 for $8,050, and most recently, in our March 2008 sale, we sold a PCGS VF 30 at $12,075. With the demand for good stars as high as ever, I can't imagine that this note would not do as well. Graded VF 30 by PMG.
