An extremely scarce Delaware County bank that was chartered in 1928 but whose circulation was limited to a small issue of Type 2 notes only. This enigmatic institution has been the source of considerable geographical confusion: it was located on State Road in the Highland Park section of Upper Darby, Delaware County, just outside of Philadelphia. The Kelly reference places the location in Cumberland County, and his maps place it in Dauphin County. While there is a suburb of Harrisburg known as Highland Park, it never had a National Bank and State Road does not run through it. In any event, this remains one of the best Delaware County locations from which to find a note. Only nine notes are reported, but the example we offer here is the only note to have been offered at a public sale in the last 10 years. A great title and a great town name. Some repairs have been made at the top and bottom margins in the center.
