Cisco, Merchants & Farmers NB, S7360
Fr. 639 $20 1902RS
Grade:
Fine
The only Red Seal from any Cisco bank known and one of two survivors on this pocket change bank. A serious rarity formerly owned by J.L. Irish and Steve Ivy. Great collections such as John Hendrix, Permian Basin and Jack Everson were missing this example. Cisco was the site of Conrad Hilton's first hotel. He came to Cisco to buy this very bank, but unable to make a deal he bought the 40 room Mobley Hotel instead. In 1927 Cisco was the site of the famous Santa Claus robbery, one of Texas' most infamous crimes.
